How Egypt is:
The civilisation started at the River Nile. The River Nile was at least 6650 km long running from one side of Africa to the other. This is a perfect civilisation starter for the ancient Egypt and people today still live by the river. The most convenient way to move around Egypt is to sail on River Nile, because the desert is very harsh and most of the tourist spots are near River Nile.

About 90% of Egypt is desert, but the River Nile goes through Egypt which has made the land very fertile for farming on the river bank and irrigation. Ancient Egyptians use the River Nile for many purposes such as transportation, washing clothes, food and water for drinking and irrigation. The River Nile floods every year and it brings fertile soil. The River Nile is the best way to survive in Egypt.
Religion:
Gods and Goddesses:
Religions in Ancient Egypt kept on changing but the concept of death and afterlife stayed the same. Ancient Egyptians worshiped many gods and goddesses. Egyptian Gods had specific roles. Osiris was the chief God of dead and after life, Anubis was the God of embalming and mummification, Neith was the goddess of hunting and warfare, Bes was the God of protecting families. Sakhemet was the goddess of war and misfortune and Thoth was the moon god. Disobeying the religion could result in you being executed.

Important Conflicts:
Ancient Egyptians were very untied people. Egypt was always in conflict with Nubia. Major Egyptian enemies were Nubia and Syria. Egypt had enemies because of there precious minerals such as metal, ivory and gold. Egypt also had conflicts with Romans and Syria. Egypt had two battles with Syria. There has been lots of conflict in ancient Egypt and you should be careful where you go.
Celebrations:
Ancient Egyptians celebrations were manly based civil things. Rameses III established a celebration to honor his victory of the Libyans who had invaded Egypt unsuccessfully. The most important festivals are New Year's Day, Feast of Wagy, Feast of Anket, and Feast of Thuthi. Celebrations in Egypt are mainly based on religion and civil events.
Politics:
Ancient Egypt was ruled by Pharaohs. Pharaohs had the highest status in the society. When Pharaohs died they were buried in a tomb with all their valuable possessions. The Pharaohs owned everything in Egypt. Pharaohs had lots of helpers to do his job well. Ancient Egypt was also a theocracy, controlled by the clergy. The Pharaohs advisors and ministers were almost always priests, who were considered the only ones worthy and able to carry out the god-king¹s commands. Warning ,don't disrespect any of the Egyptian customs or Pharaohs.
Governmental Officials:
The governmental officials included the vizier, or the prime minister, the chief treasurer, the tax collector, the minister of public works, and the army commander. These officials were directly responsible to the Pharaoh. The land itself was divided up into provinces called nomes. Each nome had a governor, who was appointed by the Pharaoh, and responsible to the vizier.
Significant Individuals:
Ramses II:
1303-1213 BC Ramses II is said to be the greatest and powerful ruler of the Ancient Egypt. He emphasised on building cities and monuments he moved the capital to Pi Rameses a city he established. He also won many battles and defeated armies.
Tutankhamen:
Tutankhamen was a Egyptian pharaoh from the 18th dynasty. He became a pharaoh at age nine in 1337 BC. He reign ended in 1328 BC. The reason Tutankhamen is so famous is because in 1922 his body was found in tomb with lots of treasures.
Khufu:
2551-2528 BC Khufu was the second Pharaoh of Egyptian empire , he maintained the society very well and developed it. He built the famous Great Pyramid of Egypt.Hr ruled for about 23 years.
Rameses III:
Rameses III was in reign from 1182- 1151 BC. Rameses III was strong leader in military. He was a builder of temples and palaces. He was last of the great leaders of ancient Egypt.
Cleopatra:
41-31 BC Cleopatra. When the roman army was in Egypt, the roman military leader Julius Caesar fell in love with Cleopatra. They lived in Rome until Julius Caesar was killed. Cleopatra killed her brother by poisoning him and became the Queen. After that she suicided for some reason , that is still an unrevealed mystery.
Information about Cairo:
Food:
As Cairo is situated on the Nile River bank , the food you would come across would be mostly sea food such as fish and grains such as rice, bread and beer are also a very important part of Ancient Egyptian food. So you would get to have various types of breads and beers while you are in Egypt.
Tourist Sites:
Since you are visiting Ancient Egypt you would obviously come across Pyramids and some of the pyramids would be under construction.You would see many temples and iconic monuments.You would notice many people with camels , they would take you around the city and the dessert.
Customs:
One of the most well known Ancient Egyptian customs is mummification. Early Egyptians berried their dead in pits in the desert. The heat and dryness would dehydrate the bodies transforming them into "natural" mummies.
Language:
Egyptian is the language spoken in ancient Egypt. It is one of the oldest languages. It is dated to 3400BC and was spoken until 17th AD.
Legends and Myths:
You are visiting ancient Egypt so you need to know some legends and myths about Egypt. Such as creation story of the sun God Re and myth of Osiris because you would come across these very often in Egypt , in there writing and paintings. Creation Story of Re , tells how there was darkness all over Egypt and then lighted up the Egypt. The Story of Osiris and Isis , is how Osiris married his sister Isis and his rule over Egypt.
