What should women do?
If you are a female, you won't really be involved in public life or politics, you will mostly do domestic duties such as; spinning wool or weaving. The olive oil was used for cooking, lighting, beauty and athletic purposes. When olives were harvested women made into olive oil and when grapes were harvested they were made into wine. |
What to eat!
In all areas of Greece you will find olives, grapes and figs. They also keep milk and cheese which you can get from goats . The plains have richer soil which means that you can grow wheat to make bread. Fresh seafood like fish are very common, as Greece is mostly surrounded by water. Grapes were made into wine and olives were made into Olive Oil. In some of the popular cities meat could be purchased. Even though there was meat it was really eaten. Instead used mostly for religious sacrifices.

So here is what a practical day would be like:
Men would go off about their own business while women would stay inside and clean as well as look after whatever the men would tell them too do. Children would make up simple games and play with very basic toys. All family members gardened on a daily basis. They lived off the fruits and vegetables they grew and killed animals when they needed meat.
