RELIGON -
What type of religion and beliefs were there in this civilisation?
In Ancient Egypt they strongly believed in the afterlife and that you would live in eternity in the after life but if you want o get into the afterlife there is a test! You have to have a light enough heart to go to the afterlife. If your heart was as light as a feather you passed the test. There is a catch though if you did something wrong your heart would get heavier. So to have a light heart you have to live in innocence. To weigh the hearts there was a heart ceremony. A God named Ammut had a big part in the ceremony except most of the egyptians didn't like Ammut. This religion is firm in their beliefs and their beliefs in their many Gods they believed in.
How is this religion organised (who was in charge, how did people worship?)
God Ammut was in charge of the heart ceremony so he had a big part to do with Ancient Egypt but he was still highly hated. On the other hand though the Pharos are very popular they are also very high on the hierarchy!
What are the death rituals like?
In Ancient Egypt they mummified the dead because they believed that in the afterlife they would have their body if they preserved it properly. They also put items in swell because they believed it would come with them to the afterlife.
